A Rare Islamic Mamluk Period Syrian Blue and White Ceramic Jar, 15th-16th Century

The tapering baluster form jar decorated with blue and white glaze in a typical Syrio-Persian paisley motif style along with scrolling foliage and ornamental bands. Similar jars of the period were modeled after their contemporary Chinese Ming Dynasty imported counterparts. H 10.5 inches. Diameter circa 8 inches.
