A rare original pencil, ink, watercolor and gouache by the legendary three time Academy Award winner Dorothy Jeakins,1914-1995, depicting King Leontes of Sicily in the Shakespeare play ‘The Winter’s Tale’ performed by the American Shakespeare Theater and Academy in Stratford Conn. 1958. The work is signed with initials and dedicated to the award winning director of the production Jack Landau (1924-1967). It is also inscribed ‘Stratford 1958’, ‘The Winter’s Tale’ and ‘King Leontes of Sicily, act I. Image size: 10 x 15 inches. Framed size: 16 x 21 inches. Framed and matted in the Mid-Century style.
