French Empire Early 19th Century Egyptian Inspired Planter with Lion’s Paw Feet
This is a rare French Empire mahogany planter fashioned in the Egyptian taste which became so popular after Napoleon I conquests in Egypt. The planter features none of the usual bronze mounts and likely dates to around 1820. It is lined with a metal insert and has a small drawer on one side.
