‘Young Woman on a Deer’ Unique Large Art Deco Bronze Sculpture by Paul Peterich

Standing almost 26 inches tall on an architectural Egyptian style bronze base, tapering from the bottom up, the composition of the deer and the young woman is in a perfect balance. The stylized modeling typical of the Art Deco style is detailed to perfection. German sculptor Paul Peterich, 1864-1937, is likely best known for his 1913 bronze sculpture of ‘Youth with Victor’s Crown’, now one of the crown jewels of the Berlin Sports Museum.
