Superior 19th Century French Louis XVI Style Parquetry/Marquetry Cylinder Desk

This fine cylinder desk in the style of Louis XVI features a three-quarter pierced brass gallery top mounted with red turquin marble a above a shaped pediment and the marquetry roll top enclosing an interior fitted with three drawers, three simulated drawer panels and the sliding gilt tooled leather writing surface surmounting three drawers flanked by ram’s head gilt mounts and supported by four square tapering legs with gilt bronze tops and sabots. All drawers and sides with diamond pattern satinwood inlay.
