The bombe shaped case is intricately inlaid with boulle and brass marquetry work and enriched with finely chiseled gilt bronze mounts. The case is surmounted by a figure of the archangel. The circular gilt bronze dial is inset with porcelain numerals. The trunk having a glazed central aperture revealing a gilt bronze pendulum in the form of a sunburst centering a classical mask. The clock with ebonized accents and base adorned by numerous finely executed gilt bronze mounts featuring classical scrolls and leaf work
