Being third generation of the legendary Gruppé dynasty of artists, Robert Gruppé is rediscovering the traditions of the Cape Ann School of painting with assured brushstrokes and vibrant colors. He has exhibited for more than 30 years in Gloucester’s distinguished North Shore Art Association, the Rockport Art Association and the Meriden (Connecticut) Art Association, winning numerous awards along the way. Wintering in Florida the glowing tropical views have become some of Robert Gruppe’s favorite motifs and his oeuvre of Florida paintings are much sought after, his recent show at the Naples Art Center creating much publicity and popularity.
