Luigi Fabbrucci, Italian 1829-1893 “l’Esclave”

SOLD. Aristide Luigi Fabbrucci is probably most known for his marble statue ‘The Geniuses of Painting and Sculpture Fighting over the Crown’ in the d’Orsay Museum in Paris, but this large Carrara marble statue of a young girl is an equal masterpiece of poetic form. Signed and dated 1868 and titled on the front of the base ‘L’ESCLAVE’ the statue stands 44 inches high on a 22 x 16 in. base. Asking Price $ 13,500.
